As most of you know, I’m speaking at the upcoming Look at Me seminar in St. Louis on the 27th. I also happen to be the guy that is (along with a very wonderful and supportive wife) juggling all aspects of the event, including marketing it, setting up the venue, agenda, everything. It’s stressful, but I believe this event is going to bring some great awareness of the need for SEO to the STL business community.

As part of my promotion effort, I’m going to be doing a radio commercial on a local station that has a great demographic for the event.

Problem is, I’ve been so stressed about getting this all together, that I’m not feeling 100% creative at the moment. So maybe you can help.

I need some ideas for a :60 second spot on the radio. What do you suggest would work best, what ‘scenarios’ do you think would best resonate with my target audience (below), and what approach (two people talking/acting, one announcer, etc) do you think would work best?

Unfortunately, with the event coming up quickly, I’ve got to get a decent idea for a spot over to the radio station soon. That means this post has a short expiration date, as in tomorrow.

Any ideas/suggestions that you have, just post below. !

Information of Use

Seminar: Look at Me – Getting Your Business in Front of Online Customers
Target: Business owners, execs, maybe a few marketing managers, decision makers
Radio demographic: 76% male, educated, 75k+ yearly salary, ages 25-54
Summary of event: Getting targeted, buying traffic to your website
Longer explanation: Did you spend a bunch of money on a website that isn’t producing the ROI you expected? Or none at all? Are you frustrated with your competitors making so much online, but you don’t know how they’re doing it? Hear professionals in Internet Marketing tell their secrets.

Let’s see how social media can really help create a fun and informative radio spot!

Because of the economy, more and more businesses are looking for ways to market themselves. The ‘good years’ in the past are dwindling away as consumers tighten up their budgets and shut down their checkbooks. Because of this, businesses are needing more and more to get in front of customers.

I talked to one business owner today who builds inground pools in the Saint Louis area. For years his business has flourished. Last year he had to add staff and purchase more vehicles to keep up with all the work.

This year, however, everything has ‘dried up’. He’s having a hard time paying bills, especially new trucks and maintenace. No one is buying homes, which means no one is spending on upgrades like pools. So he’s checking into running a special in the local newspaper promoting a sale which he won’t make hardly anything off of. Just to get his name out there, and to stay in business.

If you aren’t marketing your business now, you’re in for a shitload of trouble (pardon my French) when the market does turn around. Those that took this time to start putting money into their Internet marketing are going to be so far ahead of the curve as the economy creeps back up that they won’t be able to catch up.

So, with all that said, here’s a question for you business owners: Would you pay for a one-day seminar that taught you the basics of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and also exposed you to some other marketing ideas, such as video marketing, email and direct markeitng, and maybe even something on website maintenance? Would you pay $299? $199? $99? $69?

What would it be worth to you to gain a HUGE amount of information about Internet Marketing for your business at a one-day seminar catered to your needs?

Last night’s seminar titled Marketing Your Business Website was a success. We had a wide variety of attendees, from a real estate agent, to a wildlife removal guy to a landscaper.

I really enjoy teaching at these events, and am now reaching a saturation point where the current venue is too small. Every one of my seminars are now packed – and there’s a waiting list just as long. So I’m looking to expand a bit, as well as perhaps move to a more central area near Kirkwood or West County/Clayton.

I’d love to partner up with a restaurant that could cater an event, perhaps in exchange for a large room with seating for up to 50.

If you can help me with a place (preferably with wireless broadband), I’ll bring the people. Contact me and let’s work out a deal.

Current upcoming seminars (sorry they are full, but you can get on the waiting list in case there are cancellations)
