Hi, Will...

To answer your question, how many leads a professional gets is strictly up to him/her. Another advantage to using ServiceMagic is the flexibility the system provides. If someone wants more leads, they can turn up their lead flow. If they have too much work to handle, they can dial it back. There's no pre-set limit.

Will,

Two more things. ServiceMagic leads are delivered to the professional in whichever manner he/she wishes... automated voice call to their cell phone, text message, fax, e-mail, etc... or a combination of any of those.

ServiceMagic also has a verified ratings and reviews platform. This greatly equalizes the playing field for those who may not have the biggest marketing budget, but who take pride in delivering great quality of work and exceptional customer service. You don't have to worry about paying for the biggest ad in the phone book. When homeowners see you have a 5-star rating and excellent reviews from past clients, who do you think they'll choose?

Heya SM Employee, this is great information. I was told (from a former customer of yours) that they were competing with tons of other contractors for the same lead. If that's not true, and you only sell the lead to 4 contractors, then I apologize.

Do you provide information to potential signups such as how many leads they can expect per day or month? That'd be good info.

I'm going to go back and contact a few contractors who used to be on SM and find out why they ax'd the service. I remember they weren't happy, musta been a reason.

Will,

I have to correct an error in your column. ServiceMagic does NOT sell a lead to every contractor signed up for a task. The maximum number of professionals who receive a lead is 4.

The value of a lead continues beyond the initial outreach, even if the deal isn't closed. Hey, if you didn't get this job then you already have a name/number of someone who you can put into your marketing pipeline for future business.

We hear from contractors all the time who tell us that with one ServiceMagic lead, they've not only obtained a customer for life... but that one customer has told several friends, who have also turned into customers.
